AFSC Professionals
The coaching professionals at the Arctic Figure Skating Club are all members of US Figure Skating and the Professional Skating Association. Their professional and personal accomplishments contribute to their great success in training young skaters to become champions at the rink...and in life. We are pleased to introduce them to you.
Igor Shpilband has been Ice Dance Director at the Arctic Edge Arena of Canton since September, 2003.
Since 1990 he has coached his skaters to many national titles. Igor coached the 2001 Jr. World Champions; 5-time US National Champions and Olympic and World Silver Medalists, Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto; the 2008 Canadian National Champions, Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir; the 2008 Silver and 2006 Jr. Ice Dance Champions, Meryl Davis & Charlie White; 1999 Junior World Ice Dance Champions, Jamie Silverstein and Justin Pekarek;1998 Junior World Ice Dance Champions and 1988 Olympic team members, Jessica Joseph and Charlie Butler; and 5-time US Ice Dance Champions and 1994-1998 US Olympic and World team members, Elizabeth Punsalan and Jerod Swallow.
Igor Shpilband, Ice Dance Director
The Professional Skating Association named Igor Shpilband Coach of the Yearin 1999 and 2005. In 2005 he was also named US Figure Skating/PSA Paul McGrath Choreographer of the year.

Marina Zoueva
Marina Zoueva has been coaching with Igor Shpilband since 2002. Together they have coached many championship ice dancing teams including the 5-time US National Champion and Olympic and World Silver Ice Dance Team, Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto, as well as 2008 Canadian Ice Dance Champions, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. Her students have also included Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov, the 1988 and 1994 Olympic Pairs Champions.
Marina and her former ice dancing partner, Andrei Vitmann, placed 5th in the 1997 World Championsips in Tokyo.
Marina Zoueva
She was a member of the Russian National skating team from 1975-1980 and was a coach/choreographer at the Red Army Club in Moscow, Russia from 1980-1991. Marina earned Masters Degrees from the State Institute of Physical Education and the State Institute of Art in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has earned the Highest Merit Awards for Coaching and Choreography in Russia. In 1994 sheas an Honored Art Worker of Russia.

Marina Zoueva
Johnny Johns
Johnny Johns is a gold medalist in figures, freestyle, pairs and dance. Coach Johns was the U.S. National Senior dance Champion in 1973, U.S. Pair Champion in 1974 & 1975, and World Team member from 1971 - 1975. He was a featured performer with Ice Capades from 1976 - 1979.
Johnny has been coaching since 1979 and is a National, World and Olympic coach. He coached the 2006 U.S. National Pair silver medalists and Olympic team members; and the 2007 U.S. National Pair champions and 2008 Bronze Medalists, Brooke Castile and Ben Okolski. He is a member of the PSA and has served on many USFSA and PSA committees.

Theresa McKendry - Learn to Skate Director
Theresa McKendry, a member of United States Figure Skating and the P.S.A., has twenty-seven years of coaching experience and is the Learn-to-Skate Director at the Arctic Edge Arena. Her skaters have competed at Junior and Senior Nationals and International competitions, including Junior Worlds.
Theresa’s specialties include choreography as well as all levels of freestyle and moves in the field.
On a personal level, Theresa has attained the Senior Freestyle and Gold Figure levels, as well as the Pre-Gold Dances. She placed second in National Professionals and third in World Professional Competition.

Jeri Campbell
Jeri Campbell , member of USFS and the PSA, coaches all levels of skating from beginner to the highest levels. She has coached and/or choreographed National, Olympic and World competitors and medalists.
Jeri skated professionally for over ten years, including the US Open and the Torvill & Dean final tour.
Coach Campbell is a multiple international gold medalist. She was 1988 Olympic Alternate, 1987 Jr. National Champion, 1984 Novice Ladies Silver Medalist, and won Regional titles in all levels from Intermediate thru Senior and Sectional titles in all levels from Novice through Senior.

Gary Clark
Gary Clark has coached World and Olympic competitors and National Champions.
He is an ISU Technical Specialist in the new judging system for pairs and freestyle skating. He was part of the committee that originated moves in the field. Mr. Clark is also a former national judge and referee.
Coach Clark has been a member of the P.S.A. since its inception. He is a USFS gold medalist in figures, freestyle, pairs and dance. Mr. Clark is also a former USFS International and World team member.

Lisa Kirby
Lisa Kirby, USFS and P.S.A. member, has sixteen years coaching experience and has taken skaters to sectional and national championships.
Lisa has her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wayne State University. Her coaching specialties include moves in the field, all levels of freestyle and choreography.
Coach Kirby has achieved the levels of Gold Freestyle and Junior Pairs. She has been a national and international competitor and was the US National Novice and Junior Silver Medalist.

Tammy Liptak is a member of USFS and the P.S.A. She has been coaching all levels of moves and freestyle for over 25 years.
Coach Liptak attended Western Michigan University and earned a degree in Communication and Management.
She has coached many skaters through Senior Moves in the Field and Freestyle.

Tammy Liptak
Erin Sutton-Stickel is a member of the USFS and the P.S.A. and has experience in coaching basic skills, freestyle, choreography and stroking.
Erin was the 1995 US Novice Champion, 1995 Olympic Festival Champion and 1996 US Junior Silver Medalist, and has competed as a member of the Senior National team and International teams. Coach Sutton-Stickel has successfully completed the Senior Moves in the Field and Freestyle tests.
Erin graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

Adrienne Lenda
Adrienne Lenda is a member of the USFS and P.S.A., and has been coaching nationally and internationally for ten years. She earned a BA in Communications at the University of Delaware in 1994. Adrienne’s coaching specialties include freestyle, singles, pairs, choreography and moves in the field.
Coach Lenda’s most recent coaching accomplishment includes the 2006 Jr. National Pairs Champions, Kendra Moyle and Andy Seitz.
Adrienne earned the Level V and the Senior Freestyle rating through the P.S.A. and passed the Junior Pair test and was a gold medalist in Freestyle and Figures.
